
Dr. Francine Barbetta, Psy. D.
Dr. Barbetta holds a a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on Family Counseling from Chestnut Hill College. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University in Individual and Family Studies, a degree which combines studies in psychology, sociology and the person’s development across the life span as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Rider University. Dr. Barbetta is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania and Nevada. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. Dr. Barbetta has been counseling individuals, families and groups for over twenty-four years, working with adults, couples and children. Her doctoral dissertation was on the topic of Forgiveness and she has lectured and written articles on Forgiveness and Empathy. Prior to her counseling experience, Dr. Barbetta was a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has extensive experience dealing with the elderly, children of aging parents and retirement issues.
Her approach to psychotherapy focuses on understanding a situation from the client’s point of view. Dr. Barbetta takes an active, interactive approach with clients and believes that change is possible for anyone seeking it. She is passionate about helping clients to feel fulfilled in their relationships with others. Our relationships with others is what makes our lives content.
